Dems is trending on Twitter, so I perused. One thing I've learned is that Republicans are pissed about Obama's presser. Why? No humility. No shame. It was all "It's not about left or right but what helps the American people". The nerve!
Republicans are pissed because Obama was acting like a President and not a Democrat. They wanted him to talk about Yesterday and instead he talked about Tomorrow. He took the narrative away from the right and changed it from the election to governing. Republicans weren't expecting that. They're still basking. Peggy Noonan must be horrified.
The other thing I learned from Twitter and people like Dana Milbank is that Obama just doesn't "get it." No one can explain exactly what "it" is though. Liberal policies won tonight and have been winning for a while. Everything from minimum wage to marijuana to gay marriage. As Bill Mahar put it:
“63 straight months of economic expansion. A depression, averted. A deficit that’s reduced by two-thirds. A healthcare law that’s working and lowering costs. Two women on the Supreme Court. Bin Laden’s dead. Stock market at record heights. An unemployment rate that dropped from 10.2% to 5.9% — If you’re a Fox News viewer trying to do the math, that’s less — gas prices are down."
What about that is Obama supposed to change?
Obama's policies won tonight, even if he didn't. He gets it. It's the voters who don't.
Update: Oh, and he's supposed to listen to the voters who voted against amnesty but not the ones in 2008, 2010 and 2012 who voted for it?
